The Kansas City Chiefs are hoping to get back into the win column against the New York Jets but the injuries are sadly not slowing down. Wide receiver Xavier Worthy exited the game in the fourth quarter and headed to the locker room after suffering a non-contact injury.

It didn't take long for the Chiefs to rule Worthy OUT for the rest of the game with a hamstring injury. For those who saw the moment Worthy went down, that designation wasn't a surprise. Worthy grabbed his hamstring after the play he was injured on and was unable to put weight on it.

This would be a bad situation no matter what but considering how bad the Chiefs' wide receiver situation is, a bad situation has become even more of a nightmare. Tyquan Thornton is already done for the rest of the season (a playoff return is possible but we'll see) and Rashee Rice has been dinged up already this year.

That means that a Chiefs team that was already rumored to be looking for a wide receiver ahead of Tuesday's deadline is going to be even more in that conversation now. There's no excuse for Brett Veach not to trade for someone that can help this offense, especially now that Worthy could miss a significant amount of time.

Xavier Worthy injured during Week 9 vs. Jets

Worthy had a nice game before his injury, tallying six catches for 46 yards with a long of 19. He was third on the team in receiving yards against the Jets. On the season, coming into this one, Worthy had 27 grabs for 230 yards and a touchdown.

Non-contact injuries are always scary but hopefully it's not as bad as it looked and Worthy can come back and help this offense. Either way, the Chiefs will surely be adding help at wide receiver. If they weren't planning on it before the Worthy injury, they definitely should be now.

We'll update this post when we hear more on Worthy's injury.

Update (4:09 p.m.): Andy Reid confirmed in his press conference following the game that Worthy tweaked his hamstring.
