As the Kansas City Chiefs return from their bye week and hope to continue their undefeated season, they were hit with another injury. The Chiefs, hosting the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6, lost Jaylon Moore in the first half as the right tackle exited the game with what was later revealed to be a concussion.
With Moore unable to play, Joshua Ezeudu was filling in at right tackle. The Chiefs traded a 2028 seventh-round pick to the Giants in exchange for Ezeudu, who was a third-rounder by the G-Men in 2022. He had played his entire rookie deal with New York, re-signed on a one-year deal, and then was traded to Kansas City, likely to give him a chance at a bigger role.
The Chiefs are no strangers to injuries on their offensive line this season, as Josh Simmons, their usual starting left tackle, has yet to suit up and play a snap so far this year. That already put K.C. at a disadvantage, as undrafted rookie Kahlil Benson was forced to start at left tackle. So, for those who are keeping track, the Chiefs could be moving forward without their two starting tackles depending on how serious the concussion is for Moore.

The Chiefs have a lot of questions surrounding their offensive line too, especially if Moore has to miss time. They traded for Diego Pounds ahead of the season but he's been made inactive in every game so far. They cannot afford anymore injuries along their o-line.
Moore joined the Chiefs in 2025 after filling in for Trent Williams in San Francisco and playing well in his absence. That led to Kansas City signing him a two-year deal worth $30 million and he was mostly used as a swing option during his inaugural year with the Chiefs. With Jawaan Taylor out of the picture this year, however, that opened things up for Moore to step into a starting role.
This is also a contract year for Moore so it's a chance for him to beef up his play and land himself a nice contract either with K.C. again or elsewhere. Hopefully, he passes concussion protocol and is cleared to return to action soon.
We'll update this post as more information about Moore's concussion comes out.
