As the Kansas City Chiefs battle to stay alive in the playoff hunt, they need to win out and get back to their old mischievous ways. Rookie Ashton Gillotte showed glimpses of what Chiefs Kingdom has become accustomed to with an incredible interception off Justin Herbert in the second quarter.
Herbert was hit from behind, impacting the throw, which made it an easy pick for Gillotte. This led to an absolutely incredible call from the man, the myth, the legend himself Kevin Harlan, whose commentary didn't disappoint.
"Intercepted! And picked off on the play, Gillotte the rookie! Inside the 20! It's a thick pick! Oh he's a big man with a lot of hair!"

Ashton Gillotte interception sparks unforgettable Kevin Harlan moment
This was just a great call all around, as Harlan really encapsulated the way everyone felt about the pick in that moment. Also, Gillotte is a big man with a lot of hair so no debates there! Hopefully, the long-time commentator trademarks the term "thick pick" though because that is an amazing phrase that needs to catch on.
Chiefs fans are used to Harlan dropping dimes with his calls during Chiefs games, as we all remember the iconic "I'm calling BOTH GAMES!" moment from the final week of games in the 2019 season. That was, of course, when the Chiefs were vying for the two-seed in the AFC playoffs (back when the two-seed got a bye in the first round) and the Patriots were choking in their game.
Harlan is such an icon and it's truly a gift any time he's on the call for a Chiefs game.
