The Kansas City Chiefs swung for the fences when they signed Kenneth Walker to a three-year deal worth $43 million. It shores up the backfield for Patrick Mahomes and the offense and that's a terrifying thought for the rest of the NFL.
Walker, who won the Super Bowl 60 MVP award as a member of the Seahawks, is clearly stoked about joining the Chiefs. He hasn't been quiet about his next destination on social media and Chiefs fans absolutely love to see it.
Shortly after the deal was announced, Walker shared an image of him in a red Chiefs jersey with the caption "Chiefs Kingdom". Walker later on posted a photo of his red Chiefs number nine jersey onto his Instagram story. If that doesn't show he's excited about joining the Chiefs, I'm not sure what will convince you that he is.
Kenneth Walker clearly thrilled to be joining Chiefs
To say that the Chiefs desperately needed help in their rushing attack would be an understatement. Then again, that's been the consensus for the past few years and it didn't seem to matter, as the Chiefs continued to ignore the position and run it back with Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt.
Brett Veach clearly heard the complaints though and went with arguably the best running back on the free-agent market. Walker rushed for over 1,000 yards and found the end zone five times last year. He also was crowned Super Bowl 60 MVP after dashing for 135 yards in the blowout win over the Patriots.
The Chiefs needed to ensure that they had help in the run game for Patrick Mahomes now that he's returning from a major injury and Walker helps with that for sure. Seeing how excited he is to join Mahomes, Andy Reid, and Eric Bieniemy in Kansas City has to have the fan base all kinds of fired up.
