The Chiefs watched Kareem Hunt limp over to the training staff during the team's first offensive drive in Week 10.

Just a few plays into their opening drive in Week 10, the Kansas City Chiefs' training staff found themselves busy as they attended to running back Kareem Hunt and an apparently leg injury suffered in the first quarter of the team's Week 10 game against the Denver Broncos.

The Broncos are visiting Arrowhead for the first of their two scheduled meetings this season and both teams were forced to punt on their opening sequences after the defenses for each team came up big. For the Chiefs, the loss of Hunt after his final run certainly didn't help.

The good news is that Hunt was able to return to action the following drive despite seeking medical attention, but that drive also stalled and Hunt only gained a single yard on the one carry he had. Samaje Perine was brought in after that carry and the broadcast noted that Hunt was dealing with an ongoing tweaked knee that was going to be a concern going forward.

Behind Hunt, the Chiefs have Perine and Carson Steele waiting in the wings. The team left Clyde Edwards-Helaire on the inactive list coming into the game.

Hunt re-signed with the Chiefs earlier this season after the team lost lead back Isiah Pacheco to a fractured fibula back in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Hunt was originally drafted by the Chiefs and played the majority of two Pro Bowl-caliber seasons with them before being released following assault charges.

The return of Hunt to the Chiefs after five seasons with the Cleveland Browns has been one of the most heartening stories of the Chiefs' season so far. Through five games, he has 111 carries for 414 yards and 5 touchdowns coming into Sunday's action.
