It took one game for Bills fans to learn what Chiefs fans have known for years

When it's good, it's good but when it's bad, ooooh boy.

The Mecole Hardman era of Buffalo Bills football began on Sunday when he joined his new team against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 11. Kansas City Chiefs fans wondered how involved Hardman might be with his new team and turns out, he was quite involved in his Bills debut.

In the first quarter, with his new team down 3-0, Hardman took the kickoff return 61 yards to set the Bills up in great territory. The Bills then took the lead not long after. Chiefs fans weren't shocked to see Hardman make a positive impact on special teams considering he had both a kickoff return and punt return touchdown during his time in Kansas City.

While that was a positive moment for Hardman, Chiefs fans knew the other shoe was about to drop sooner rather than later. That happened in the third quarter with the Bills leading by one point. The Bucs punted the ball back to Buffalo where Hardman ended up fumbling on the return. The Buccaneers recovered the fumble and went on to score not long after, taking the lead as a result.

Bills got the entire Mecole Hardman experience in just one game

Chiefs fans obviously have a lot of love and respect for Hardman given how long he spent in Kansas City and the fact that he had the game-winning touchdown catch in Super Bowl LVIII. That being said, there's a reason the team had initially felt okay moving on from him in the 2023 offseason. He truly is the epitome of "giveth, then taketh away".

Yes, he'll give you some great returns on special teams but then there are those turnovers and errors that make you want to smash your head into a wall repeatedly. Rooting against Hardman isn't something Chiefs fans typically will do but if it means that the Bills also struggled in the moment, then that's something they're more than willing to do.

The Bills did go on to win the game, for what it's worth, but the fanbase is likely understanding why the Chiefs were fine with letting Hardman officially walk away.
