Improbable Myles Garrett trade idea would basically guarantee Chiefs a four-peat

... you know, assuming they win Super Bowl LIX first.

Super Bowl week is typically about the two teams participating in the big game but Myles Garrett threw a grenade on that when he publicly requested a trade on Monday morning. Garrett, the first overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft, has spent his entire career in Cleveland but wants out of the organization that drafted him eight years ago.

People naturally are going to throw the Kansas City Chiefs in as a potential trade partner mostly because it's fun to imagine the best team in football landing one of the best defensive players in the league. Pairing Garrett with Chris Jones would give the Chiefs an absolutely insane pass-rush and they'd be feared by every offense in the league.

Alex Kay of Bleacher Report put together a potential Chiefs-Garrett trade package that honestly doesn't sound too crazy. In Kay's proposal, the Chiefs would get Garrett from the Browns in exchange for "2025 first-round pick (No. 31 or 32 overall), 2025 second-round pick (No. 63 or 64), 2025 fourth-round pick (No. 132 or 133), Edge Mike Danna".

All things considered, this isn't too wild of a trade. Garrett is only 29 years old and is coming off a 14.0 sack season. He's had double-digit sacks in all but one of his eight years in the league and has been crowned All-Pro four times. In other words, Garrett is worth getting rid of three picks and Mike Danna for, no doubt.

Chiefs fans would be elated if this Myles Garrett trade proposal came true

Garrett has said that he wants to land with a team that has Super Bowl aspirations and what better team to go to than Kansas City? If Garrett is serious about wanting to win a ring, there's not a better team for him to land with this offseason than the Kansas City Chiefs.

While this would be a no-brainer of a trade to make for Brett Veach and the Chiefs, it's probably not going to happen. First and foremost, Garrett will likely command way more than just three total draft picks and it's hard to imagine the Browns only getting one first-rounder in exchange for him.

While it'd be a lot of fun to see Garrett and Jones wreaking havoc together in Kansas City, another team is going to give up a king's ransom to bring the former number one overall pick to their city and for good reason. Veach doesn't tend to operate that way and hey, who can blame him? Most of what he's done to this point has worked out, as the Chiefs are on the cusp of a third straight Super Bowl win.

That being said, we can always dream.
