Best of luck to him.

With their second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs hoped that they added a gem to their wide receiver room when they selected Western Michigan's Skyy Moore. Sadly, that did not pan out.

While Moore did score a touchdown in Super Bowl 57 against the Eagles, it was only one of two scores he'd tally during his three years donning the red and gold. His Chiefs tenure is largely looked at as a disappointment, especially considering where he was drafted and the position he played.

The Chiefs traded Moore to the 49ers ahead of the 2025 season and he saw more success there, especially on special teams. He joined his third team in as many years this offseason, linking up with the Green Bay Packers and hoping to revamp his career even more in Wisconsin.

Skyy Moore could be important addition for Packers

Freddie Boston of Lombardi Ave thinks that the Packers are onto something with the addition of Moore. Boston wrote that Moore could be "an important chess piece" with the green and gold.

"It's clear that the Packers' primary reason for signing Moore in free agency was to help fix their underwhelming return game. He can undoubtedly help in that regard, having averaged 11.6 yards on punt returns and 27.5 yards on kick returns last season.
"But his impact can go beyond that. LaFleur uses Jayden Reed in motion a ton, but Moore's arrival gives the Packers another option.
"Orbit motions. Jet motions. You name it. LaFleur can get creative with his newest gadget receiver. It will only help an offensive line coming off a disastrous season (and facing many of the same questions this year), and the uncertain depth at running back."

It's true that Moore can make a difference in the return game. Aside from the touchdown grab in Super Bowl 57, Chiefs fans' other positive memory of Moore's time in Kansas City was his prolific punt return in the AFC Championship win over the Bengals that helped get the Chiefs to that Super Bowl. He can be a game-changer in that department for sure and the Packers are clearly excited to have him around.

Moore might not have worked out in Kansas City but his 49ers tenure showed that there's something there. He was a second-round pick for a reason but he's still trying to prove that to the rest of the league. If he can give the Packers a much-needed boost on special teams and in the receiving game, maybe people won't attach the word bust to his name anymore.

For now though, that word is going to stay with him, especially for those in Chiefs Kingdom.
