As draft night inches closer, Kansas City Chiefs fans have no clue what direction the team is heading in when it comes to the ninth overall pick. That isn't just the consensus amongst the fans, but draft experts are hearing the same rumblings from the team.

According to ESPN draft expert Matt Miller, what the team is planning to do with either of their first-round picks is a bit of a mystery. He did reveal one name that might pique fans' interest, however.

"In talking to sources both in Kansas City and around the league, there seems to be no strong indicator of where the Chiefs will go with either of their first-round picks. The Chiefs will see how the board falls and have needs at core positions such as offensive tackle, wide receiver, edge rusher, defensive tackle and cornerback. A hot name to watch at corner is Jermod McCoy (Tennessee) ... if he makes it to No. 9."

Draft expert Matt Miller says Jermod McCoy is 'a hot name' for Chiefs

It's not surprising that the Chiefs aren't indicating which direction they're going in. As for McCoy potentially being of interest, he'd definitely fill a need for this team. K.C. lost Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson this offseason and need cornerbacks. McCoy would definitely be a great addition.

As Miller stated though, McCoy might not make it to ninth overall. He's one of the best cornerback prospects in this draft and other teams ahead of Kansas City are surely going to be eyeing him as their next franchise corner.

The Chiefs haven't drafted this high in quite some time so we really have zero clue what direction they're leaning toward. Maybe if McCoy is there, that's who they're taking or maybe that's a smokescreen and K.C. is going to go in an entirely different direction.

Whoever the pick is at No. 9, hopefully it's someone who can immediately step in and be a game-changer for a team needing a bounce back season. If that's McCoy, then great. Kansas City would love to have a cornerback with his potential at its disposal.
