The Kansas City Chiefs have already made a splash in free agency but Chris Jones wants more. Jones was excited about his team signing Khyiris Tonga but he doesn't want the Chiefs to call it quits there. On Wednesday afternoon, Jones had a post on X that might have caught some fans' attention.
The post simply read "Cam jordan...", clearly a shoutout to long-time New Orleans Saint defensive end Cam Jordan. Jordan has spent the entirety of his 15-year career in the Big Easy donning the black and gold but is a free agent for the first time in his career.
While Saints fans were hoping a new deal would get done to keep Jordan in New Orleans, the two sides were not able to agree on one. That means Jordan is free to sign wherever he wants and Jones is making it known where he wants the long-time Saint to end up.
Chris Jones wants Chiefs to sign Cameron Jordan
This is the type of move Brett Veach is known for, as he likes to bring in older players on the defensive side of the ball. Past examples of this include Carlos Dunlap and Melvin Ingram, both of whom played for the Chiefs in recent years. Jordan could be the next player to join that list.
Jordan, who turns 37 years old in July, had some down years after signing a big extension with the Saints but he bounced back in a big way in 2025. Jordan finished his 15th NFL season with 10.5 sacks and showed that he still has plenty left in the tank. Why not take a flier on him and see if he can add some juice to this Chiefs defense?
Jordan would have a chance to ring chase with the Chiefs, something that probably isn't the case for him in New Orleans (though it's worth noting the Saints did look much improved near the end of the 2025 season). He's not getting any younger and if he wants to play meaningful football, signing with the Chiefs could make a lot of sense for him. He'd get to join a contending team, play under a great defensive coordinator and head coach, and could walk into the retirement sunset with a Super Bowl ring if all goes according to plan.
It'd be weird not seeing Jordan in the black and gold but if he's going to end up anywhere else, Chiefs fans wouldn't be at all opposed to seeing him in Kansas City this year.
