It's been over a week since the Kansas City Chiefs got stomped on by the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59. The game felt over before it ever really started and a recent clip has surfaced making the players and fans relive the nightmarish game all over again.
The aforementioned clip is of the Chiefs defense attempting to stop an Eagles' "Tush Push" where Jalen Hurts pushes his way through the o-line and gets some help along the way. It's become a controversial play and could even be banned this offseason but it's helped the Eagles a lot during the Hurts era.
This clip shows Chris Jones lining up sideways to try and stop the play only to get completely flattened by Hurts and the Eagles' offensive line. Jones missed a chunk of the second half of the game due to a neck injury and it wouldn't be crazy at all to believe that the injury happened on this play considering how roughed up Jones got.
Clip of Chris Jones getting flattened in Super Bowl 59 is making the rounds
This one play probably isn't something that Chiefs fans even remember from the game because, truthfully, the game was terrible pretty much from start to finish. The Chiefs trailed 24-0 by halftime and were down by as many as 34 points. They didn't score until the end of the third quarter. It was a brutal beatdown and one that fans are going to be thinking about for quite some time.
As for this clip/play, it's hard to fault Jones for trying something new. Very few teams have been able to stop the Tush Push so why not try to line up sideways and see if it gives you any kind of advantage? Jones tried something, it didn't work out and he got obliterated, and now he'll get dunked on for the foreseeable future. So it goes in the world of sports.
