Those who enter the NFL through the International Player Pathway (IPP) program obviously aren't the most well-known prospects heading into the draft, but Nigeria's Uar Bernard is changing that narrative a bit and could very well hear his name called a few weeks from now, perhaps by the Kansas City Chiefs.
According to NFL and college football analyst Ryan Fowler, the Chiefs are one of eight teams interested in Bernard, who hits the draft as a defensive lineman and is one of 13 prospects in the IPP Class of 2026, which represents 10 different countries.
The Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts have already scheduled visits with the 6-foot-4, 306-pounder, and the Chiefs join the Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, and Washington Commanders among the others wanting to take a look at this incredibly raw talent.
If you haven't yet heard of Bernard, he turned all sorts of heads at a recent workout and is rapidly rising up draft boards.
Uar Bernard could grab one of the Chiefs' remaining top-30 visits
A native of Abuja, Nigeria, Bernard played some basketball at the high school level, but his football experience is pretty much nonexistent. However, he's been wowing in workouts, and his athleticism is impossible to ignore.
The HBCU Showcase & IPP Pro Day recently took place at the Washington Commanders' training facility, and Bernard, as mentioned, measured in at 6-foot-4 (just a little over, actually) and 306 pounds. So, just that size alone stands. But it only gets better from there, as he has 11-inch hands and close to 36-inch arms. And his body fat is just absurd at 6 percent.
Oh, we're not even close to being done.
Per The Athletic, Bernard recorded a vertical jump of 39 inches, a broad jump of 130 inches (10'10"), which is 14 inches more than any defensive tackle did at the actual NFL Scouting Combine, and then ran a 4.63 in the 40-yard dash. Yeah, it's absurd, which is why his trainer for the last couple of months, Jordan Luallen, who has trained plenty of prospects in his day, says he's never seen anything like it.
"Hands down, he is the most explosive athlete I’ve ever seen in my life,” Luallen said. "He broad jumped 10-10, and it was effortless. At 306 pounds. I’ve never seen anything like it."
21 y/o Nigerian prospect, Uar Bernard, is going viral for his freakish athletic testing at the HBCU Showcase:

Longtime QB coach George Whitfield Jr., whose client list includes the likes of Andrew Luck, Jameis Winston, and Josh Allen, was on hand helping with offensive drills, and said he also couldn't believe what he was seeing when the defense took the field, comparing Bernard to another unicorn who has no business being as athletic as he is at his size.
"It’s like watching (Victor Wembanyama),” Whitfield said. “The numbers don’t even do him justice. He’s 6-5, 310, and he’s got 6 percent body fat on him. NBA players don’t have 6 percent body fat on them."
The Chiefs have often set aside some of their top-30 visits for those who perform well in Pro Day settings, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see them bring Bernard in for a workout. It's hard to envision a guy with no formal experience going any earlier than Day 3 (if at all), but this is undoubtedly a guy to keep an eye on over the next few weeks. Because even if he isn't drafted, Bernard will likely be one of the first snatched up as an undrafted free agent.
