The Kansas City Chiefs might need cornerbacks after losing Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson but the latest news shouldn't be enticing for them. According to Adam Schefter, Kenny Moore II and the Colts have agreed to trade the cornerback and allow him to find a new home for the 2026 season and beyond.

While some Chiefs fans might think it'd make sense for him to end up in Kansas City, let's break this down on a deeper level. Moore might be talented but he'll be 31 years old by the time the 2026 regular season starts. That right there is a reason the Chiefs should avoid making a trade for him. Giving up draft assets for a soon-to-be 31-year-old cornerback when they could easily use those picks on a younger option at the position wouldn't make a ton of sense for this team.

Chiefs should not be enticed by Kenny Moore's availability

This isn't to say that Moore isn't a good player. Last year, he finished with a PFF grade of 66.7 so he's clearly still talented and could give a weak secondary a much-needed boost. As mentioned above, however, trading assets for him when he's going to be on the downswing of his career just wouldn't be a good move.

The hope is that Brett Veach can work his magic in the draft and find some studs at cornerback to bring into the fold. If the season began right now, the Chiefs would be rolling with a starting cornerback room of Kristian Fulton, Kader Kohou, and Nohl Williams. Considering Fulton's injury history, that's not a great situation to be in.

But, the Chiefs are armed with two first-round picks so the hope is that they can add some solid cornerbacks for Steve Spagnuolo's defense. We've seen this team move on from talented corners in the past and it hasn't hurt them too badly so hopefully, this year isn't any different from those experiences.

Either way, Moore isn't the guy for Kansas City.
