Technically, the Kansas City Chiefs have endured yet another injury to their wide receiver corps with the news that Skyy Moore has been placed on injured reserve. For the first time, however, fans are unlikely to be phased at all given Moore's complete lack of impact in the team's offense.

According to NFL reporter Tom Pelissero, the Chiefs will be without Moore for at least the next four games of the season after placing him on IR. The reason for Moore's absence is to recover from a core muscle injury.

The Chiefs are already dealing with a significant number of injuries at wideout so far this season, including their top three options with the loss of Hollywood Brown, Rashee Rice, and JuJu Smith-Schuster coming into Week 8. Brown was lost in the team's first preseason game for the rest of the season, while Rice went down with a severe injury in Week 4.

At least the Chiefs know they have reinforcements on the way in coming weeks with the recent trade for DeAndre Hopkins. In addition, Smith-Schuster will hopefully return in short order after missing Week 8 against the Las Vegas Raiders with a hamstring injury.

For his part, Moore is unlikely to be missed by anyone outside of Arrowhead given his lack of impact for the last three years after being taken in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. After putting up a meager 22 catches for 250 receiving yards during his rookie campaign, Moore failed to capitalize on an ideal opportunity for a breakout season in 2023 when the Chiefs needed younger players to step up at wideout. He finished the year with even less catches and yards than before.

This year, Moore has only garnered three targets total and has yet to catch a single pass, despite playing in the team's first six games.
