Super Bowl 59 has concluded and it was not the result that Kansas City Chiefs fans were hoping for, as the team got pushed around pretty much from start to finish. While Kansas City ended up scoring 22 points, it all came in garbage time and they were getting shut out until the end of the third quarter.
This was not a game that Chiefs fans will want to remember because not much went in their direction at all. It felt over when Patrick Mahomes threw a second interception in the first half that led to another Eagles touchdown, making it 24-0 Eagles before Kendrick Lamar even took the field for his halftime performance.
There were a lot of rough stats for the Chiefs in this game but there's one that truly sums up how atrocious of a performance this was for Kansas City. According to Carrington Harrison on X, "The only stat you need from the game is Kenny Pickett and Kareem Hunt had the same number of carries."
That is brutal, to say the least. Hunt was a great addition to the team and fans were hoping to see him win a ring with the team that started experiencing success at the highest level after he was waived and joined the Browns. Instead he had three carries, matching the same number of carries that Kenny Pickett had for the Eagles. In case you forgot, Pickett is the Eagles' backup quarterback. Yikes.
The brutal stats keep on coming from Chiefs' Super Bowl 59 loss
It's not surprising that the Chiefs didn't run the ball much considering that they were trailing by 24 points when the teams headed to the locker room at halftime. What made it worse was that the offensive line had an atrocious game and that led to the passing game taking a hit as well. It didn't help that Patrick Mahomes had the worst game of his career.
All in all, this is a game that Chiefs fans will be clamoring to forget. Can we hit the reset button and replay the game?
