The Kansas City Chiefs drafted two players in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft with one shared coincidence -- They've both played at Arrowhead Stadium before. Nebraska running back Emmett Johnson and Cincinnati wide receiver Cyrus Allen took the field at Arrowhead last August when the Cornhuskers and Bearcats squared off at the Chiefs' home stadium.

Johnson's Cornhuskers narrowly won the game and the new Chiefs running back put on a clinic, tallying 135 yards from scrimmage on the night. Allen had 59 receiving yards and helped the Bearcats climb back into the game late. Now both guys will get to suit up and play at Arrowhead eight (or nine, depending on the year) times a year.

Johnson spoke about the experience after getting drafted by Kansas City, saying he loved the environment.

"I really love the field, love the environment. And I know a lot of Nebraska fans are going to follow me there, so it’s going to be great,” Johnson said.

Allen also expressed how much he enjoyed playing at Arrowhead and talked about how stoked he is to call that stadium home.

“It was good to play [at Arrowhead Stadium]... I felt like I was in my groove that game,” Allen said.“I made a lot of plays that game, and when it came down to the comedown, I just felt comfortable in that stadium. So, I’m excited to be there.”

These two are already going down in history together given that they're both fifth-round picks by the same team but this shared connection makes the pair even more interesting. Johnson will battle for the backup running back job while Allen will look to stake his claim as a depth piece at wide receiver.

When the two take the field for the first time as pro football players, they'll already know what to expect inside the friendly confines of Arrowhead Stadium. Hopefully, they play as well as they did the last time they suited up there.
