Chiefs fans will hate this rare win from the Raiders ahead of the trade deadline

The Raiders being competent isn't something we're fond of.

The NFL trade deadline is on Tuesday afternoon and teams are trying to make last minute deals to either help them win now or to help them build to win later. The Las Vegas Raiders fall in the second category, as they're going absolutely nowhere this year and know they need to sell off pieces to help them improve for the future.

Kansas City Chiefs fans might not like hearing how the Raiders' latest trade was actually quite a big win for them. The Raiders traded wide receiver Jakobi Meyers to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for a fourth-round pick and a sixth-round pick in the 2026 draft.

This means that the Raiders gave up a guy on an expiring contract who didn't want to play for them anymore and got two Day 3 picks out of it. That's a pretty genius move, especially for the Raiders of all teams, who aren't known for making smart moves.

Chiefs fans can’t ignore this surprising trade deadline win by the Raiders

The good news here for Chiefs fans is that Meyers is officially out of the division and we don't have to deal with him anymore. The bad news is that the Raiders might actually know what they're doing sometimes and that's no fun.

Draft picks can turn into anything though and there's no guarantee that the Raiders will add value with these picks come April. They haven't been exactly great at drafting talent so let's hope that continues and they go on to whiff with these picks they get from the Meyers deal.

The AFC West has proven to be getting tougher, evidenced by the Chiefs currently sitting in third place after the first nine weeks of the season. It was a lot more fun when the three other teams floundered year after year but right now, the Raiders are the only team floundering. We'd like to keep it that way.
