This offseason has seemingly been a good one for the Las Vegas Raiders so far. Their future head coach just won a Super Bowl as the offensive coordinator of the Seahawks and their likely number one overall draft pick won the National Championship last month and the Heisman Trophy the month before that.

Fortunately for Kansas City Chiefs fans though, the Raiders can't be on top for long. This offseason is going to be filled with drama surrounding their star pass-rusher Maxx Crosby, who is clearly frustrated with the organization that drafted him and wants out of Las Vegas.

According to Jason LaCanfora, who previously spent time with NFL Network, Crosby has told minority owner Tom Brady that he won't play for the Raiders again. LaCanfora reportedly got this information from an unnamed general manager.

“He told Tom Brady he will never play for the Raiders again,” the anonymous GM said. “That’s a fact. He told them he’ll retire before he ever plays for them again. But I’m not sure they’re actually going to trade him. Myles Garrett said the same thing last year, and we know how that ended up.”

Maxx Crosby trade rumblings give Chiefs fans plenty to smile about

Crosby reportedly does not want to be part of another rebuild, which the Raiders are doing once again after the Pete Carroll-Geno Smith pairing failed miserably in 2025. Chiefs fans would love it if Crosby was able to get out of Vegas and the AFC West because it'd mean that A) they wouldn't have to play him twice a year anymore and B) it'd massively hurt the Raiders' defense.

The Raiders hit the jackpot with Crosby in the fourth round in the 2019 draft and he's been one of their few bright spots ever since. He's had double-digit sacks in three of the past four years and has always played Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs incredibly tough. Getting him out of the division would be a huge win for K.C. moving forward.

As noted above though, Myles Garrett of the Browns pulled a similar stunt last year and he ended up signing an extension with Cleveland not long after. Would anyone be surprised if this saga between Crosby and the Raiders ended in a similar fashion?

Let's hope this drama continues to make the Raiders look like the Raiders moving forward because, hey, with the rest of the division getting tougher, it'd be nice to know there's one team a healthy Chiefs team can beat up on.
