Given their position as the ruling class of the National Football League and the owners of the league's most recent dynasty, it comes as no surprise to hear that key members within the Kansas City Chiefs' leadership structures have drawn interest from other franchises. In fact, it's almost surprising that more teams haven't come calling over the last couple of seasons.

The Chiefs have been able to retain an incredible amount of experience on the sidelines and in the front office while chasing their historic three-peat, but one person of note who works closely with Chiefs general manager Brett Veach might soon be on the move.

Mike Borgonzi has been with the Chiefs for the last 16 seasons—yes, a tenure that stretches back to the days when Scott Pioli ran the team's operations. In that time he's worked his way up the food chain to oversee the scouting departments for both college and the pros with the job title of assistant GM that's well-deserved after so many years of effective service.

Now it seems that other NFL teams have identiifed Borgonzi as a prime candidate to lead their own front offices in the hopes of mimicking Kansas City's success.

The New York Jets were the first team this offseason to approach Borgonzi and conduct an interview. According to NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler, the Jets believe Borgonzi is a "strong candidate." However, the Tennessee Titans are also hot on the trail and, per Fowler, recently wrapped their second interview with the Chiefs executive.

It's been a while since the Chiefs lost a front office exec to another team for a GM role—that would be Ryan Poles, who still rules in Chicago for now—but Borgonzi looks ready for such responsibility. He's worked his way up on the scouting side as well as football operations and should have the sort of experience and overview to make him effective leading an entire front office.
