Chiefs earn rare praise from Colin Cowherd

It's weird getting complimented by Cowherd.

Colin Cowherd tends to not be a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs or anything they do. That's why it was a big surprise when he praised the team for one of their moves this offseason.

Cowherd went through what he believed to be the 10 best additions this offseason and had Kenneth Walker landing with Kansas City at No. 10. The Chiefs signed Walker knowing their running back room needed a makeover in the offseason and Cowherd loved the move.

"Now Walker is really good and had an unbelievable playoff run and he is an area of need for the Chiefs. But he only averaged 60 yards a game in the regular season and wasn't always [the Seahawks'] red zone back and he is a physical back that gets dinged up. So again, [in] the postseason, Kenneth Walker knew his contract situation. He played banged up and he was tremendous in the Super Bowl but there's some injury stuff to be concerned about. I still like the move a lot for Kansas City."

Colin Cowherd gives Chiefs due diligence for Kenneth Walker signing

Again, it's rare for Cowherd to heap praise onto the Chiefs. He's never been a big fan of complimenting them but clearly, he likes the move of signing Walker. It was seemingly a home run signing for K.C., as the offense needed a boost in the rushing attack and Walker, fresh off a Super Bowl MVP award, gives them just that.

Cowherd's concerns are justified though. Walker is someone who gets, as Cowherd put it, "dinged up" and for a position as grueling as running back is, that is something to monitor for sure. But the hope is that Walker can give the Chiefs something the team hasn't had in several years, which is a dominant RB1.

Furthermore, pairing him with Eric Bieniemy should only help the Chiefs' run game improve. If Walker ends up panning out, this will go down as one of Brett Veach's best free-agent signings as Kansas City's general manager.
