Chiefs come away from AFC Championship game with minimal injury concerns

The Kansas City Chiefs are preparing for Super Bowl LIX after putting the Buffalo Bills in the rearview mirror after yet another classic postseason showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles awaiting them at the next exit. And after enjoying a couple of weeks to rest players to start the postseason, both teams now get another bye before facing off for the Lombardi Trophy in New Orleans.

The good news for the Chiefs is that they're already quite healthy as an organization.

The Chiefs have endured a number of significant injuries this season—and some players remain on the shelf after being lost of the year—but the team has remained incredibly fortunate this postseason during wins over the Bills and Houston Texans in the divisional round.

Coming out of the AFC title game, head coach Andy Reid spoke to the media and stated that the team had no new major injuries to detail following a hard-fought battle against Josh Allen and the Bills.

After such a physical season, the Chiefs are likely going to have minor concerns to attend to while preparing for the Eagles. However, the team has two weeks to get those players rested and ready.

During the AFCCG, safety Justin Reid, defensive tackle Chris Jones, linebacker Nick Bolton, and returner Nikko Remigio all left the field for a spell with a potential injury but returned to action. All four will be players to watch when the Chiefs return to practice for any official designation.

Entering the week, the Chiefs also had four players on the injury report although everyone was able to play a full game. The list included quarterback Patrick Mahomes (ankle), tackle Jawaan Taylor (knee), guard Mike Caliendo (shoulder), and corner Jaylen Watson (ankle). Those players will also be ones to watch to see how things are progressing and/or if any of them come off the report during Super Bowl week.

As it stands now, though, the Chiefs look like they're going to be as prepared as a team can hope to be after such an arduous run. That's a testament to the Chiefs' readiness and training staff, and good news for the
