Potential waiver wire targets for the Chiefs
Mohamoud Diabate, LB, Tennessee Titans
The Titans have more linebacker depth than expected, and Diabate might be the odd man out after signing a one-year deal in March. If squeezed out, his three years of special teams experience could come in handy for the Chiefs, as Diabate is only 25 years old yet has 46 appearances with the Cleveland Browns since 2023.
Mike Danna, DE, Buffalo Bills
No introduction needed here. It looks as if the Bills won't have room for Danna entering the regular season. The Chiefs released Danna after six seasons with the team in late February, but if they're not absorbing that original cap hit (he was set to make $11 million in 2026), then bringing back Danna makes some sense for a unit dealing with injuries.
Davis Allen, TE, L.A. Rams
The Rams are flush with tight ends, so they should expect the earliest teams on the waiver wire to line up for those unable to crack the active roster. Davis Allen profiles as a solid blocker who would immediately upgrade the Chiefs TE corps. The Chiefs also need to solve the logjam of pass-catching tight ends and diversify the product.
