The Kansas City Chiefs came off their bye week hot and remain undefeated heading into Week 7. Their young stars keep playing well, and their offseason plan seems to have paid off early. But it is never too early to think about the draft, and with all of the madness in college football this weekend, things are changing quickly.
The Chiefs hold 10 picks in this year's class, and while they'll likely make moves either at the deadline or on draft day, late April will be a key weekend for Brett Veach and Co. The Chiefs will have a chance to reload their young core and maintain their success through the rest of the decade. So today, I previewed some of the players Kansas City may look to target on draft weekend.
Round 1 - Trey’Dez Green, TE, LSU
With Travis Kelce likely riding off into the sunset after this season, the Chiefs need a tight end, and Green is the best of the best. One of the nation's most gifted athletes, Green stands 6-7 and weighs around 240 pounds, but moves with great quickness and fluidity. Green’s play style fits well with the Chiefs; he can plug in as a big slot WR and is also a better blocker than many give him credit for. Andy Reid would have a lot of fun designing plays with someone like Green on the roster.

Round 2 - Wyatt Young, WR, Oklahoma State
The Chiefs take some draft-day planning from the Browns, who are off to a hot start largely thanks to their rookie playmakers Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion. Young has been one of college football's best receivers and is exactly the type of pass catcher Andy Reid and Brett Veach love. He is a true deep threat with a great release off the line of scrimmage and run-after-catch skills. He would immediately become Kansas City's best WR and give Mahomes a go-to guy against man coverage.
Round 3 - Bray Hubbard, S, Alabama
The “Swiss Army knife” of the Alabama defense, Hubbard is one of the nation's most versatile DBs. Hubbard has proven he can be a key player at the highest level, with the range to play over the top and the aggressiveness to play in the box. He is a good blitzer who can also contribute in man coverage. Hubbard may not take over the game, but he has a great feel, and his versatile skill set will appeal to Steve Spagnuolo.
Round 3 (Rams pick via McDuffie trade) - Niki Prongos, T, Stanford
The Chiefs will need to add a tackle this offseason with Jaylon Moore heading to free agency. While the team hopes to start Josh Simmons and Kahlil Benson, Brett Veach and Andy Reid will want some insurance. Prongos has been a strong starter for Stanford over the last couple of seasons and has experience playing left and right tackle. He brings some competition to the table and likely becomes a valuable depth piece with the potential to win an even bigger role down the line.
Round 4 - Raylen Wilson, LB, Georgia
A former five-star linebacker out of high school, Wilson quickly became a key part of Georgia’s incredible defense. He is an aggressive linebacker who often relies on his athleticism to make plays sideline to sideline. The Chiefs will see Nick Bolton entering his contract year again in 2027, and Wilson would bring a physical presence to the Chiefs' LB room should they want to plan for the long term.

Round 4 (Jaylen Watson comp pick) - Luke Montgomery, IOL, Ohio State
The Chiefs need interior depth more than many think. Hunter Nourzad has been a valuable backup center, and the Chiefs have trusted Mike Caliendo as their backup guard. But now Caliendo hits free agency, and Nourzad enters the last year of his rookie deal, as does Kingsley Suamataia, leaving the Chiefs with a glaring need. Montgomery has experience at both center and guard and could fill the “Nick Allegretti role” for the Chiefs for years to come.
Round 5 - Jordan Faison, WR, Notre Dame
The Chiefs aren't done adding weapons, and with their fifth-round pick, they land an explosive, shifty Notre Dame WR. Faison is a great athlete who has also won national championships with Notre Dame’s lacrosse team. He has been a reliable pass catcher and punt returner for the Fighting Irish and could bring real value to Kansas City.

Round 6 - Jaheim Singletary, CB, Iowa State
Brett Veach has had a lot of success with late-round corners, and the Chiefs will go to the well again here. With the Chiefs' starting corners set for the next several years, Singletary is somewhat of a project. He is a big, athletic corner who could bring a lot of upside to the Chiefs' DB room. He can also contribute on special teams because of his frame and athleticism.
Round 7 (Charles Omenihu comp pick) - Beau Atkinson, DE, Ohio State
Atkinson is a talented DE who excelled early in his college career with North Carolina but has struggled to catch on at Ohio State. The Chiefs take a gamble that they can help him find the success he once had at UNC.
Round 7 (Hollywood Brown comp pick) - Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy, IDL, South Carolina
A former top-10 recruit in the nation, GBD's path hasn't gone as planned. He has consistently struggled to find playing time at both Texas A&M and South Carolina, despite flashes. The Chiefs take a gamble to see if they can work out some of the kinks in Brownlow-Dindy's game.
