The Kansas City Chiefs' 2026 schedule was never going to be a walk in the park but it got even trickier on Monday. Ian Rapoport dropped a bombshell report early in the afternoon, informing us of a trade between the Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Rams that will send star pass-rusher Myles Garrett to L.A.

Unfortunately for the Chiefs, the Rams are on Kansas City's schedule this year, meaning the offensive line will have its work cut out for them protecting Patrick Mahomes that week. Garrett has faced off against the Chiefs three times in his career and recorded two sacks in those games, so K.C. has done okay against him, but the Rams are going to be a whole different animal.

Myles Garrett will now be on Chiefs' schedule in 2026

The Chiefs have a late-season match-up against the Rams, as they'll travel to Los Angeles for a date with the Super Bowl 56 champs in Week 13. The game is a Thursday night primetime affair and it's not hard to see why, especially now with Garrett as part of the fun.

The Chiefs and Rams did business together earlier in the offseason, trading Trent McDuffie to L.A. They also saw Jaylen Watson leave for Los Angeles and it's clear as day that the Rams are going all-in on getting another Super Bowl title before Matthew Stafford hangs up the cleats.

The last time K.C. faced the Rams, Stafford was injured, which led to a double-digit victory for the Chiefs. Before that, it was the famous 2018 showdown on Monday Night Football where the Rams won 54-51 with each team trading blows all night long.

Garrett joining the Rams certainly makes them a much scarier team and, aside from that Week 13 match-up, the only other time the Chiefs would see them would be in a potential Super Bowl pairing. It's unfortunate that the Week 13 game on the road on a short week but tougher but hey, at least Garrett is out of the AFC now. That's something.
