The Los Angeles Chargers already have one of the freshest uniform sets in the entire NFL. It is a classic yet bright display that jumps off the screen in any game they are in. On Tuesday, the Chargers announced a new set of alternate uniforms.

The bright yellow look is one that immediately grabbed everybody's attention. Some people really enjoyed the release of the yellow alternate jerseys. Meanwhile, there were still a fair number of jokes hurled Los Angeles's way.

It will always look different once they wear them on the field, compared to a social media graphic. Yet, these yellow alternates make it seem like the Chargers should be playing football in the Saturday cartoon time slot. Simply put, this makes Los Angeles look like yellow Power Rangers or even like the superhero character Wolverine.

Despite that, this is not the worst set of alternate uniforms that have been revealed recently.

Hype for jerseys mirrors annual summer hype for Bolts

There has been a yearly summer tradition for like a decade now in which some in NFL media will proudly proclaim that this is the Chargers' year or breakout point. Hype around jerseys and continuous praise for their social media team are nice elements to have in this day and age. Nonetheless, that routine hype for accessories and matters off the field seems to be the only true thing that the Chargers can hang their hats on.

Los Angeles has been in prime opportunities in the past to really stake their claim. But any time they have a chance to pounce, the Bolts generally wind up falling flat on their face. Now, in an even more crowded AFC West division, the competition on the field is that much fiercer. Can they turn their fortunes around in the big moments very soon?

Classic looks should become permanent again

The Chargers' primary powder blue set is one of the best looks of the modern NFL era. Many teams have begun to reintroduce classic looks of the past during brief spurts of the regular season. The Eagles' kelly green, the Broncos' Orange Crush throwbacks, and the Seahawks' blue and silver throwback combo are some uniform sets that should be a permanent staple once again. Even the Buccaneers' creamsicle jerseys have a special classic sense to them that should be seen more often.

The Chiefs may not have the old, classic look to fall back on. However, their colors are still some of the cleanest in the league. It would be stunning to see what a new alternate jersey might look like for Kansas City. But if they were to pull out a yellow alternate themselves, we are sure it could do better than the yellow Power Rangers look that the Chargers have introduced.
