The Kansas City Chiefs should always hold a special place in their hearts for Kadarius Toney, as his Super Bowl record-long punt return was a big factor in sealing one of the three championships of the Patrick Mahomes era. However, he was utterly unreliable in every other aspect.

Toney, who was originally acquired after flaming out with the New York Giants, showed to be a poor route-runner with one of the worst sets of hands on any wide receivr that ever got extended playing time. Still, his speed and elusiveness has continued to help him get work in the NFL.

The Cleveland Browns decided to become the third team to take a chance on Toney. After, two games, both you and I have more yards from scrimmage after he ran for -4 yards and didn't catch any passes. At least he's making players as a returner, right? Wrong!

Toney played just two snaps in the fourth quarter against the Pittsburgh Steelers, both of which came as a returner. On one of them, he fair caught the ball and was flagged for taunting multiple Steelers players while down by multiple touchdowns. On the next, he helped ruin a Browns comeback with a muffed punt. Classic Toney.

Former Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney keeps making huge mistakes for Browns

Toney caught 41 passes for 340 yards and two touchdowns in parts of two seasons with the Chiefs. Kansas City, like every team the Florida alum has ever been on his career, tried to get the most out of him in open space, but even that proved tough.

No one has ever questioned Toney's speed or athletic ability. However, his lack of football awareness borders on historic. It seems like no matter what situation he is in, he seems to make the wrong play that becomes actively destructive for his team.

At least Toney can afford to sabotage a Browns team that is going nowhere fast. The Chiefs have just one loss on the season, but with how razor-thin the margins have been for this team, they simply could not afford to trust a player like him in pivotal moments.

The Chiefs rightfully declared themselves out of the Toney business, cashing out after realizing the punt return in the Super Bowl was going to be the highlight of his professional career. Now he's the Browns' problem, though he may not be for much longer with showings like that.
