Ashton Jeanty just said about the Raiders what Chiefs fans have known for years

There's a reason the Raiders were able to take Jeanty sixth overall.

With the sixth overall pick in this year's draft, the Las Vegas Raiders selected Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty. As much as Kansas City Chiefs fans hated to admit it, the pick did scare them a bit considering just how dominant Jeanty had been in college.

While Jeanty had gotten off to a slow start in his first glimpse of NFL action, he started to look like the player we all remember watching in college. Coming into the Week 7 game against the Chiefs, Jeanty was coming off four straight games with at least 60 yards rushing and had two touchdowns during that time.

Well, Jeanty was virtually ignored in the Raiders' 31-0 loss to Kansas City, rushing for a measly 21 yards off of six carries. He spoke about his team's effort (or lack thereof) after the game and said something that Chiefs fans are well-aware of.

"I don't work as hard as I do - and I don't think anybody else in this building does - to lose like that," Jeanty said. "So, if we're being honest, it's been a losing culture around here for a long time. But we have to continue to work to fix that and bring winning back here."

Ashton Jeanty said the Raiders have had "a losing culture" for awhile

It's been tough sledding for the Raiders pretty much since they went to the Super Bowl and lost in the 2002 season. Since then, they've had five non-losing seasons and only two winning seasons (2016 and 2021) and won exactly zero playoff games. So yeah, Jeanty isn't wrong here. To put things further into perspective, Jeanty was born in 2003, so the Raiders haven't won a playoff game in his lifetime

The latest loss for the Raiders was particularly bad though considering it was a blowout loss to their arch nemesis and the team was supposed to show improvements under Pete Carroll. The rest of the AFC West saw they couldn't beat the Chiefs by drafting or bringing in new quarterbacks so they brought in better head coaches instead. So far, it hasn't worked for the silver and black.

Chiefs fans have enjoyed watching the Raiders continue to flounder year after year and hope that Jeanty gets fed up enough with losing that he doesn't want to stick around there when his rookie deal is up. Let the Raiders keep on Raidering, as they say.
