GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium is no stranger to hosting college football games and it'll add another to its slate in 2025. It was announced on Monday that a game between the Cincinnati Bearcats and Nebraska Cornhuskers would be played at Arrowhead in August 2025.

According to The Cincinnati Enquirer, the game was moved from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis because the Bearcats hoped to make more of a profit from the game. It's a home game for Cincinnati so they had the opportunity to pick where the site of the game was and settled on Arrowhead.

As mentioned above, Arrowhead has hosted plenty of college football games before, including half of the Kansas Jayhawks football team's games this past season while the university finished up its new football stadium. Before that, Arrowhead famously hosted the Missouri/Kansas Border Showdown every year until Mizzou bolted for the SEC following the 2011 season.

Arrowhead will host Nebraska and Cincinnati football in August 2025

This should be a fun game even for those who don't have any attachments to either team. On the one hand, there's Nebraska, a school that has a wonderful fan base who travels to watch all of their sports teams play. With Kansas City being roughly a three-hour drive for those in Lincoln, don't be surprised to see Cornhusker fans fill up Arrowhead for this game.

Nebraska also has Dylan Raiola as its quarterback and Raiola went viral for essentially being a Patrick Mahomes look-alike. Raiola helped lead the Cornhuskers to a non-losing season for the first time since 2016 and will be bowl-bound for the first time since then.

As for Cincinnati, the Bearcats might be further away but there are still storylines to connect Chiefs fans to the game. Travis Kelce played at Cincinnati so it wouldn't be surprising if he attended this game and hey, who knows? Maybe Taylor Swift will accompany him and the two can finally watch a game at Arrowhead together.

Cincinnati joined the Big 12 Conference in 2023 after having tremendous success in the AAC for a decade. The Bearcats reached the College Football Playoffs in 2021 but have not seen the same amount of success after Luke Fickell took the Wisconsin head coach job in 2023. The Bearcats are coming off back-to-back losing seasons.

Even for those without a horse in the game, this should be a fun game that will bring different fan bases to the area and who can enjoy Arrowhead the same way we all do.
