Andy Reid might not care about his Allegiant Stadium record but he should

It's okay to be excited!

A 4-0 record isn't the only thing on the line when the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday afternoon. With a win, Reid could become the all-time winningest coach at Allegiant Stadium, the home of the Raiders.

This is a pretty impressive feat considering that Allegiant Stadium isn't where the Chiefs play their home games and they only play there once a year. The stadium opened in Las Vegas in 2020 when the Raiders moved there from Oakland and Reid has won six games there entering Week 4 of the NFL season.

Before the game against the Raiders on Sunday, Reid has tallied six wins in Allegiant Stadium. Five of those have come against the Raiders but the Chiefs also won Super Bowl 58 in that stadium, bringing his total to six. He's tied for the most-wins in Allegiant with former Raiders head coaches Josh McDaniels and Antonio Pierce.

Andy Reid can make history in Allegiant Stadium

Of course, it's worth noting that even if Reid does get to seven wins and becomes the all-time winningest coach in the Raiders' stadium that the record probably won't stand for terribly long. Klint Kubiak already looks like he's been a good hire for that team and should be able to get to seven wins before too long.

But, in the meantime, it's hilarious to see Reid tied for the top of the list when he doesn't even regularly coach in Allegiant. It'll be even funnier if he gets the record and sits at the top for a bit.

Reid was informed of this feat ahead of the matchup and claimed he didn't care about it, noting, "I didn't know that (about the record)... I don't really care."

Why Andy Reid should care

It's not surprising to hear that Reid doesn't care about the record because... well, that's just Andy. It'd be weird if he seemed thrilled by the news to be perfectly honest. But here's why Reid should care about it. He should care because it's an insane stat to have a head coach hold the record for most wins in a division rival's stadium considering they only play there once a year in most cases. Be proud of that accomplishment, Andy!

That Super Bowl win in Allegiant was truly salt in the wounds from all around the AFC West. The Raiders were devastated because K.C. won in their home stadium and celebrated in their locker room. The Broncos were bummed because not only did the Chiefs pass them in Super Bowl wins with four but John Elway had to award them with the Lombardi Trophy. And Chargers fans were probably just sad that they've never gotten to experience that level of success.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that Andy Reid can get this record because just imagine how annoyed Raiders fans will be if their most hated rival's head coach is the most winning coach in their home stadium. It'll be an easy way to troll that fan base.
