4. Week 4 at New York Jets on SNF

When the Chiefs and Jets meet in Week 4, this will be the third time Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers are scheduled to meet. Unfortunately, fate has kept those official matchups from happening both times, with the series tied at one win apiece with backups involved.

In this matchup of league MVP, this game will be critical in the Chiefs maintaining pace with the rest of the AFC leaders early in the season, but also showcasing why Patrick Mahomes is the league MVP and Aaron Rodgers should have stayed in the NFC.

Aaron Rodgers vs. Mahomes is not the only storyline to look for here. This offseason, wide receiver Mecole “Jet” Hardman left the Chiefs and joined Aaron Rodgers and the Jets. It will be interesting to see if Hardman can make plays and show the Chiefs what they are missing when they let him go in the offseason. Doubt it, but anything could happen.

Finally, while on the New Heights podcast, Jets cornerback Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner declared Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy “Enemy Number One” and said he was the coordinator he was looking forward to shutting down going into the 2023 season. Look for the Chiefs offense to put on a show and send last season’s Defensive Rookie of the Year home with a loss.

This is the first of two games where the Chiefs face their previous secret weapons, but game number three showcases one of the best wide receivers to ever wear the red and gold in recent memory.
