Travis Kelce is still in top offseason form and hyped up the home crowd at the 2023 NFL Draft along with Patrick Mahomes and the Lombardi Trophy.

This has been a magical year (and really, the last few years) for the Kansas City Chiefs. Not only did they hoist the Lombardi Trophy with their win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII, but they also were awarded the 2023 NFL Draft a few years ago—giving them perfect timing to continue to celebrate their winning ways with another signature offseason event.

As the home team welcomed the rest of the National Football League to Kansas City to open the festivities, they absolutely made sure to rub their success in the faces of everyone else and invited Chiefs Kingdom to get hyped along with them.

Team legends Dante Hall and Will Shields were already on stage along with KC-based celebs Eric Stonestreet and Heidi Gardner before the Chiefs’ biggest stars—Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes—came out to introduce the Lombardi Trophy to the crowd and to get the huge crowd even more excited. And that’s also when Kelce delivered a surprising challenge to his own general manager, Brett Veach:

While it’s a nice sentiment for Kelce to want the Chiefs to trade up, the truth is that the Carolina Panthers had already made a major move up to get that pick and they’d decided on Bryce Young. Fortunately, Kelce is not in charge of the Chiefs front office and he can stick to setting receiving records.

Beyond the hilarious request to trade up, Mahomes and Kelce and the rest of the folks on stage used the few seconds in the spotlight to hype their wins and let everyone know what they’re aiming for. It was some nice celebratory salt in the wound and Chiefs Kingdom was totally here for it.
