Kendall Blanton, tight end

To be fair to Blanton, this could easily be Matt Bushman or even Blake Bell if we wanted to expand the scope of things.

Here’s the truth: the Chiefs have been going up to four-deep at tight end over the last few years due to the overall talent and selection they have at the position. Travis Kelce is the obvious starter and annual All-Pro. Behind him are the likes of former fifth-round pick Noah Gray and end zone target Jody Fortson. Together with Bell, who is the team’s best blocker, the Chiefs are set at the position for another year.

But this year’s draft class also comes with a heralded group of tight ends, and a lot of draft analysts are pointing to this crop saying, “This is the time to find Kelce’s replacement.” If that’s true or even if the Chiefs just like the value add, it’s possible Brett Veach grabs himself a bright new tight end. If so, one could easily rise to No. 2 on the depth chart without much of a fuss—and that means fringe roster players would be out.
