Let’s look at the list of important upcoming dates on the Kansas City Chiefs’ offseason schedule.

There are two exciting facets to every offseason, broadly speaking: 1.) roster reconstruction on paper, and 2.) seeing that roster come together in person. The Kansas City Chiefs are well into free agency these days with the signing of a handful of exciting new players to go with several returnees. But for those who want to see this roster come together on the field, the dates are creeping closer than you might expect.

The first day of offseason workouts for the Chiefs is coming in less than two weeks—on April 17, to be specific—and that will begin the first of a nine-week workout program that the NFL considers “voluntary”, so Chiefs Kingdom shouldn’t expect to see every player back at Arrowhead during this time. A lot of veterans will still be relaxing at that point, while some players, like quarterback Patrick Mahomes, like to work out on their terms—typically in facilities close to home.

Beyond that, the Chiefs will also be hosting a ton of new faces after they make all of their selections in the 2023 NFL Draft in late April followed by rookie minicamp and offseason training activities. The Chiefs are the defending Super Bowl champs and already had a young roster, so the competition should be ripe at several positions for the Chiefs to reload once again. That also means scouts around the league will likely watch the Chiefs’ position battles closely to see who might shake free at roster cuts.
