Tight Ends

I wasn’t going to include tight end in this post because I think it’s much more likely they draft a tight end because of the strong group in this draft, but just in case I’m wrong here’s a brief summary of what is out there.

The Only Difference Makers: Dalton Schultz, Irv Smith, Forter Moreau, and Austin Hooper

There are other free agent tight ends out there, but I don’t feel like any of them are worth taking the time to talk about. Dalton Schultz is the best of this group, but it just doesn’t make sense for KC to spend money on signing him. Irv Smith has upside that makes him appealing since he hasn’t even turned 25 yet. Moreau and Hooper both offer blocking upside to go with their pass-catching skills. Again, I don’t know if any of these guys would be in K.C.’s plans, but if they decided to abandon the wide receiver market and instead build around two proven quality pass catchers at tight end there are at least a few options still out there to consider.

Now let’s talk offensive tackle.
