The Baltimore Ravens have surprised everyone as the coaching home for Greg Lewis for 2023.

Andy Reid said a week ago that he wasn’t sure what Greg Lewis was thinking this offseason about his coaching future. At the time, it was up in the air as to whether or not Lewis would return to the Kansas City Chiefs coaching staff or leave to join another team.

At the time, Lewis was reportedly thinking about taking a job with the Washington Commanders and joining Eric Bieniemy’s coaching staff under Ron Rivera. Bieniemy himself had taken the offensive coordinator role there just several days prior and it would have been a fresh start together with a new team for them both.

On Wednesday, Lewis surprised everyone by officially joining the staff of John Harbaugh with the Baltimore Ravens. He will serve as the team’s wide receivers coach for the ’23 season.

Lewis had previously jumped from WRs to running backs with the Chiefs in ’22 in an effort to learn more and make the leap to coordinator in the future. Now it appears his strategy is to gain further experience with another team.

Lewis first joined the Chiefs back in 2017 as their wide receivers coach after serving as the same for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2016.
