Eagles-Chiefs trash talk reaches new heights with 3 more players getting involved
By Matt Conner
The Chiefs and Eagles keep talking trash and it shouldn’t be interesting but here we are…
Amusement park rides can be grouped into two categories: 1.) I waited 2 hours for 2 minutes of amazing thrills, and 2.) I waited 2 minutes for 2 hours of a ride I was ready to get off of after just a few seconds. JuJu Smith-Schuster’s insistence on extending any sort of trolling or drama with the Philadelphia Eagles is beginning to feel like the latter.
It’s fun for the winning team (and fan base) to dunk on the losing team if they’re salty. Just check out the toddler section of the Cincinnati Bengals fan base for evidence there. But after a bit of time, teams should go about their business and fans can enjoy celebrating without shouting “in your face” at every turn to opposing fans who honestly could care less.
For some reason, Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster cannot find the off switch. Or maybe he watched so much Family Guy that he thinks every joke needs to carry on for several uncomfortable minutes after the punch line has been revealed.
In case you’ve missed it, Smith-Schuster has been making a series of posts trolling the Eagles after losing Super Bowl LVII. I’m sure it feels good to win—I mean, we all enjoyed the parade—but the most recent post was a serious production that required a script and timeline leaps and other actors. And yeah, it’s not getting a theatrical release anytime soon.
Either way, it seemed to rile up the Eagles. A.J. Brown wants to resort to violence at this point. James Bradberry is holding his opinions to himself, his common response to most things (holding joke). But his teammate Darius Slay is now joining the party with his own post as “Big Play Slay” as he trash talks Smith-Schuster and most of the Chiefs.
From there, Chiefs wideout Kadarius Toney got involved.

Only to have Eagles safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson echo back in this endless call-and-response.

At this point, we’re done with it. We’ve watched 20 games featuring trash talking and now all of these people should be asking for more cocktails on the side of some pool. Instead, they’re taking offense to each other like their real job is as reality stars on Bravo weeks after the season is over.
JuJu, please close the laptop. This ride feels like it will never end.
