Yeah, to be honest, we’re not sure what to make of JuJu Smith-Schuster’s new video either.
A.J. Brown hates it. We’re sure someone likes it. As for us, we’re not entirely sure what to make of it,.
Not that it matters. The world could use a lot fewer people concerned with whether or not they “get” something these days, so far be it from us to need to validate the new video posted by JuJu Smith-Schuster in recent days. In fact, we’d encourage you to watch it and develop your own conclusions.
What is important to recognize is at least some of the context here surrounding the new video. First, the Eagles are largely sour after losing the Super Bowl to the Kansas City Chiefs, and that’s nothing new because anyone is sour after losing anything and athletes are not immune.
In particular, however, amid the sour-ness of the situation, Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown is particularly upset at Smith-Schuster for trolling the team on Valentine’s Day. Perhaps you’ll recall the following from a few weeks ago:
Just when it seemed like both parties had retreated to the offseason, Smith-Schuster came out with the film in question. This only came to our attention because A.J. Brown made more posts about being upset at Smith-Schuster and apparently wants things to find their violent end.
So what is in this actual video? Well, you just need to watch it. Because we did and it’s still a bit of a mystery.
First, credit to Smith-Schuster for his theatrics and overall vision here because Chiefs Kingdom hasn’t had a movie-maker like this since Chris Conley was on the roster. There’s real effort put into this with a script and transitions and direction and actors and all. That alone deserves some recognition.
Beyond that, however, we’re a bit lost. There’s a lot of jumping back and forth in time like Memento 2, a low-level abduction like a Law & Order episode, a Maury Povich-like “we ran a test on your baby” scene, and some secret footage of various Eagles players who have a habit of wearing nametags. Maybe this is that movie Everything Everywhere All At Once that folks have been talking about.
