KC Chiefs find new cornerstone tackle in 5-round NFL mock draft
The Chiefs continue to bolster the trenches by adding ex-Auburn Tiger Colby Wooden. Kansas City needs to improve its defensive line and Wooden would be a step in the right direction. He’s a high-ceiling pass rusher who can also play on early downs. He’s still a work in progress but can be a great player in the NFL due to his combination of size, power, and length.
After selecting their future right tackle in the first round, the Chiefs double dip at offensive tackle and take a developmental left tackle with Carter Warren. He’s a great pass blocker with ideal length and size, plus solids hands. His concerns are worrisome as he’s an older prospect that was limited to just four games in 2022 due to an injury. He also needs to get stronger in his lower body and core. He could greatly benefit from redshirting in 2023 and taking over the left tackle position in 2024 if the Chiefs are unable to sign Orlando Brown Jr. long-term.
