Arizona Cardinals safety Budda Baker passively credited the Chiefs for their preparation entering the season in what has been an incredible year for KC.

Every NFL team undergoes a serious journey from Week 1 through Week 18 in the NFL. From good teams to bad teams, it takes a full season for nearly every franchise to show its true colors—save for a few exceptions every season.

Remember the Cincinnati Bengals only came on strong in the second half, while the Tennessee Titans and New York Jets looked solid in the first half. It takes some time for teams to settle in and for opponents to adjust. For the Arizona Cardinals, however, things started poorly and largely continued in that same vein. ndafff

Safety Budda Baker recently spoke about the team’s misfortunes and said the level of preparation coming into the season was lacking compared to the visiting Kansas City Chiefs. “I don’t think we were as prepared in the beginning of when it all started than what we could’ve been,” Baker told reporters earlier this week.

The Chiefs blew out the Cardinals to start the season and now have a chance to wrap up the year with a Super Bowl in Glendale, too. It’s interesting to hear a Pro Bowl-caliber player reflect on how his team looked compared to K.C. and the respect it engenders to see Andy Reid’s roster in early season form.

The Chiefs are hoping the answer is yes here when it comes to health and availability of their most well-rounded linebacker. As he’s dealing with a lingering shoulder concern, the Chiefs could be forced to open up an already soft spot on the defense in the middle by leaning on a role player for more than part-time reps.
