All Time Coaching Wins

This is the list of the NFL’s all-time leaders in wins for head coaches. I’ve included the number of years they were a head coach, their win total, and their winning percentage. (Note: Keep in mind the number of games per season has increased over time so the winning percentage is probably a better comparison than total victories.)

1. Don Shula – 33 years – 328 wins – .667 win %

2. George Halas – 40 years – 318 wins – .682 win %

3. Bill Belichick – 28 years – 298 wins – .662 win %

4. Tom Landry – 29 years – 250 wins – .607 win %

5. Andy Reid – 24 years – 247 wins – .641 win %

6. Curly Lambeau – 33 years – 226 wins – .631 win %

7. Paul Brown – 25 years – 213 wins – .672 win %

8. Marty Schottenheimer – 21 years – 200 wins – .613 win %

9. Chuck Noll – 23 years – 193 wins – .566 win %

10. Dan Reeves – 23 years – 190 wins – .535 win %

You can see that the top of this list is basically coaching royalty. Whether you look at total wins or the win percentage of these coaches, Reid is in the top five all-time when it comes to these lists. It feels like a foregone conclusion at this point that Reid will pass Tom Landry next season. I don’t know if he will coach long enough to touch Belichick, Halas, or Shula, but ending his career as the fourth-winningest coach in NFL history would be quite the accomplishment.

Next, let’s take a look at the coaches who have won the most postseason games in NFL history.
