Bengals vs Chiefs: Jonah Williams among inactive players
By Matt Conner
Here are the lists of inactive players for both the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs before the AFC Championship Game.
With the release of the lists of inactive players for both the Kansas City Chiefs and visiting Cincinnati Bengals, the last of the final hurdles will be cleared before the AFC Championship Game. For most of Chiefs Kingdom, it feels like it’s been weeks instead of days between NFL playoff games, but with so much hype and so many incredible storylines, the anticipation is overwhelming.
Looking ahead to the Sunday night matchup for the AFC title (and the right to go to Super Bowl LVII), there are some inactive players whose absence will likely make a significant difference for both sides.
Coming into the game, the Bengals had already announced earlier in the week that they would be missing two offensive linemen by designating them as out. Both left tackle Jonah Williams and right guard Alex Cappa have dealt with knee and ankle injuries, respectively, in recent weeks and neither one has been able to practice leading into the game.
For the Chiefs, there were a few question marks to figure out including whether or not wide receiver Mecole Hardman will be healthy and ready to go for the first time in weeks. Also Travis Kelce provided a scare with back spasms in recent days but both are active. The Chiefs also added Jody Fortson to the active roster on Saturday so there’s at least one new weapon for Patrick Mahomes to consider as Blake Bell officially sits out.
