Chiefs news: JuJu Smith-Schuster says Bengals back up talk
By Matt Conner
The Cincinnati Bengals can back up their trash talk well, says Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.
The Kansas City Chiefs aren’t quite used to being on this end of trash talk. Given that Patrick Mahomes has won 80 percent of his games since being installed as the team’s starting quarterback, it’s not all that often that an opponent like the Cincinnati Bengals has proven capable of beating them again and again (and again).
However, in the last week, the Chiefs have had to sit through a lot of trash talk on social media from players and fans in preparation for another showdown in this year’s AFC Championship game. The Chiefs are hosting the event at Arrowhead, but the Bengals have been favored after winning three consecutive contests, including the last conference title game in K.C.
For wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, who is new to K.C. this season, the trash talk from the Bengals is nothing new. After five seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Smith-Schuster says he was used to that M.O. coming from Cincy after facing them twice each season as rivals in the AFC North.
More than that, however, is how much respect Smith-Schuster has for the Bengals, since he also added to his comments to reporters that Cincinnati has the talent to back it all up on the field.
"“I just think, honestly, they’re just a physical team,” said Smith-Schuster. “They just play physical from start to finish, all four quarters. That’s something I saw playing them in Cincinnati, and it felt like a playoff atmosphere game, and that’s kind of what I’m expecting to see here.”"
Both teams sound ready to settle the score once again, talking or not, on Sunday evening at 5:30 p.m. C.T.

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Chiefs, Eagles, Bengals Get Richer (Pro Football Network)
Most teams are already well into mock draft season, which means Chiefs Kingdom will have to do some catching up soon (well, hopefully not too soon). In an effort to stay relevant with the have-nots around the league, we thought we’d look at a first-round mock and we hate what we see. This mock has the Chiefs using a first-round pick on Michael Mayer, a tight end from Notre Dame. Just know fans will riot if this happens.

The Chiefs allowed several coordinators and players to speak to reporters this week and Dave Toub had good things to say about the Cincinnati Bengals in advance of the AFCCG.
