Bengals injury update: Jonah Williams, Alex Cappa likely out vs Chiefs

The Cincinnati Bengals will likely be without two of their starting offensive linemen when they visit the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

The Cincinnati Bengals have been trying to work through numerous injuries along the offensive line late in the season already and deserve plenty of credit for getting as far as they have with so many ailing in front of Joe Burrow. Now it looks like they will have to do it again in the AFC Championship game when they visit the Kansas City Chiefs.

NFL reporter Ian Rapoport has word that Bengals coach Zac Taylor is not expecting either left tackle Jonah Williams or right guard Alex Cappa to be able to play in the conference title game on Sunday night at Arrowhead.

Williams has missed time with a knee injury since the middle of January after leaving a game against the team’s divisional rivals, the Baltimore Ravens. As for Cappa, he’s been out with an ankle injury for a couple of weeks. The Bengals have endured other injuries up front as well, including the loss of La’el Collins for the year late in the regular season. Center Ted Karras is practicing as well, but it’s worth noting that he’s dealing with an ongoing knee issue, too.

The Bengals have held their ground through the first two rounds of the playoffs, however, and the offensive front looked very solid last week against the Buffalo Bills on the road. It will be interesting to see how Steve Spagnuolo, the Chiefs’ defensive coordinator, chooses to attack perceived weaknesses up front in order to disrupt Burrow and the Bengals’ offense.
