Now, let’s get into my best bet of the week.
Best NFL Wild Card Bet
I’ll turn to the NFC for this bet, as I think the Giants have an excellent chance to upset the Vikings. At the least, I think New York covers the modest spread.
Minnesota barely survived against New York on Christmas Eve, getting outgained and surviving on a 61-yard field goal. New York’s creative defense and improving offense proved it can hang with almost anyone.
On the season, the Giants went 13-4 against the spread (ATS), including 9-2 as underdogs and 6-1 on the road. Meanwhile, Minnesota ended the year on a 1-4 ATS run.
The Vikings’ defense is a massive problem, ranking 30th in the NFL in opponent yards per play (5.9). You’d think Minnesota has a massive advantage offensively, but that’s not the case of late. Over the last three weeks, New York averaged 6 yards per play while the Vikings averaged just 5.7.
Brian Daboll will find ways to attack Minnesota’s defense and I’m not sure Kirk Cousins can do the same against New York. Trust the Giants to keep shocking the world and improve to 14-4 ATS.
