The Kansas City Chiefs are finishing the regular season with an important clash, facing the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 18.
This was the year that the AFC West was predicted to be the most contested division in football. It was also the one that would finally tip over the Kansas City Chiefs dominance and return the top of the division back to someone other than Andy Reid, who had previously led the West for six seasons straight. The Broncos had a new quarterback. The Chargers signed big-ticket defenders. The Raiders had a new WR, a new coach, and Chandler Jones.
As it turns out, the Chiefs are one win away from going completely undefeated in divisional play. They swept the season series with the Denver Broncos and the Los Angeles Chargers and they are one game away from saying the same about the Las Vegas Raiders—assuming they can wrap up the year with a win at Allegiant Stadium.
While the Raiders have some talent on both sides of the ball, the truth is that they have nothing to play for and have replaced Derek Carr at quarterback in order to try out Jarrett Stidham. On paper, this should be a rout. Then again, the Chiefs have played a series of close games against inferior opponents lately.
