Let’s take a short look at the AFC West heading into the season finale with two teams heading to the playoffs and two to the offseason.

It feels a little strange writing about the Kansas City Chiefs this week with everything that happened on Monday night. Like many of you, I had Monday off and because of that, my entire day centered around what people said was the game of the year. However, with Damar Hamlin’s collapse following cardiac arrest we are left with little to consider outside of the reality that these are real people risking their lives every single day to play a game we love to watch.

Football is a violent sport – one in which, thankfully, we have never had to experience something like this before. Regardless, we are here – hoping, praying that Hamlin survives. When it is all said and done, that is what matters. That being said, I’m keeping it short this week – I just can’t seem to find the words.

Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers and Rams faced each other, both on their home turf. (Weird.) The Rams are just not a good team this year and the Chargers are finally in the playoffs as a wild card team. This game was never that close as the Chargers pretty much handled their business. They really don’t have much to play for these last few weeks other than keeping fresh and avoiding injury. That being said, Justin Herbert was his usual self, tossing great passes to his suddenly healthy receivers.

Not only that, but the Chargers continue to get healthy as they head to the postseason. Joey Bosa played his first game since coming off IR. Additionally, the Chargers are probably getting left tackle Rashawn Slater back from injury. Look, I don’t believe Brandon Staley is a good coach and that will inevitably result in some weird decision that impacts the outcome of a playoff game; however, I don’t really want to face the Chargers. Their receivers coupled with Austin Ekeler, that’s a scary offense.

I think the Chargers take out a good team in the playoffs, and I just hope it is someone the Chiefs don’t want to face. Next week, the Chargers have their season finale at Denver and I fully expect a win from them as the Broncos sink into oblivion and the offseason.
