Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is so good at distributing the ball to everyone that he even completed a pass to himself on Sunday.
All season long, the storyline surrounding Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs offense has been about the growth in the All-Pro quarterback in his ability to distribute the football at an even greater level after the loss of wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Apparently, Mahomes is so good, he’s even seeing himself as one of those pass-catchers these days.
Coming into the regular season, the Chiefs’ offense was supposed to be in a transition year as they learned to survive without their deep threat and best wide receiver after trading the Cheetah to Miami. However, it didn’t take long for the NFL to realize the Chiefs would not only be just fine but would thrive even without Hill as a deeper wide receiving corps with new faces would help Mahomes with a greater array of trustable targets.
So far on the season, Mahomes has connected with 10 different players on 10 different occasions. Two more players have 8 catches or more, meaning 12 players have double-digit targets on the season. It’s that sort of offensive versatility that allows the Chiefs to do so much on offense.
Apparently, however, Mahomes wanted to up his game late in the year and ended up catching a pass from himself on the team’s opening scoring drive against the Denver Broncos in Week 17.

Just like anything that Mahomes does, the world was enamored with this latest achievement, even one on a minor level. Here are some of our favorite Twitter takes.

For those who have Patrick Mahomes as their QB in a fantasy championship: you just picked up 1.6 fantasy points when Mahomes threw a pass that was batted at the line of scrimmage, which Mahomes then caught and ran for 6 yards.
