The Kansas City Chiefs landed seven players on the AFC’s roster for the 2023 NFL Pro Bowl, including five from the offensive side.

The National Football League unveiled the original rosters as voted upon by fans, players and coaches for the 2023 NFL Pro Bowl, and the Kansas City Chiefs are well represented this year with 7 players. Five of those are from the team’s offense and another one apiece from the defensive side and special teams.

The Chiefs were led by the fifth consecutive Pro Bowl nod for quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who will be starting the game for the AFC—that is, if the Chiefs aren’t playing in the Super Bowl. Mahomes is also the frontrunner for the league’s MVP award, which would be his second if he’s able to win, and he’s joined by Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow at the position.

Beyond Mahomes, the Chiefs are all over the AFC roster on the offensive side. Perennial All-Pro Travis Kelce was an easy prediction at tight end with Baltimore’s Mark Andrews backing him up. From there, three of the Chiefs’ offensive linemen made the team. Center Creed Humphrey is the lone starter and left guard Joe Thuney and left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. made the team as backups for the offensive line.

Interestingly enough, former Chiefs Mitch Morse, a center for the Bills, and Tyreek Hill, a wideout for the Miami Dolphins, both made the AFC’s offensive side as well..

As for the defensive side, defensive tackle Chris Jones is the Chiefs’ lone entry there. Earlier this month, voting results revealed that Nick Bolton was close in votes for an inside linebacker role but he didn’t make the final tally here.

As for specialists, punter Tommy Townsend, who was just named Special Teams player of the Week for the AFC in Week 15 was also named the conference’s best punter.

The week leading up to this year’s Pro Bowl will unveil a series of changes intended to make the game more compelling for fans, including a series of skills challenges before the first-ever flag football game to be played on February 5.
