The Houston Texans are reaching into their bag of tricks early against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 15.

Just in case you’re wondering just how desperate the Houston Texans are in their game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, all you need to do is to take a look at the very first play of the game. It didn’t take Lovie Smith and the Texans long at all to resort to some sort of gimmickry, and from the outset, the Texans decided to make the Chiefs scratch their defensive heads by putting in two quarterbacks.

If that sound weird, it is, but that’s the sort of trickery that Houston is going to require today if they want to actually steal a victory away from the Chiefs—or even to show the sort of spunk that surprised the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday in Week 14.

To start the game, the Texans got the ball at home at NRG Stadium and decided to send in both Davis Mills and Jeff Driskel—and it wasn’t even for a single play. In fact, two of the offensive starters for the Texans on multiple plays to open the game were quarterbacks. Insanity!

The results, at least at first, were solid with an 11-yard pass to Amari Rodgers to open the game that gave Houston a first down and started to move the chains. From there, however, the Chiefs stopped running back Dare Ogunbowale twice and stalled the drive to force a punt.

It’s’ what a one-win team living in the divisional basement has to do against the league’s most successful team of the last five seasons.

The responses were at least hilarious to read on Twitter.
