4. Derrick Nnadi, Defensive Tackle

I’m not sure how much Derrick Nnadi has failed to meet expectations, if at all, but he’s been a total disaster this season. This is nothing personal, just a simple observation as a fan of the team, but Nnadi has been the worst player on the Chiefs who has seen consistent playing time. His run defense has been a disaster, which was supposed to be his one strength, he’s missing about 13% of tackles, and has only generated three pressures in 165 pass rush snaps. Three. For reference, that’s one pressure every 55 snaps, while his career average before 2022 has been one pressure every 19.2 snaps and Chris Jones has generated a pressure about once every 9 snaps. Pass rushing has never been an asset of his but it’s a disappointing year for the fifth-year defensive lineman. Despite the poor overall play, he played well since the Titans game in Week 9 and had his best game of the season against the Broncos in Week 14.

Derrick Nnadi took a step back in 2021 after his fantastic 2020 season and has taken another step back this season. That’s not ideal as both 2021 and 2022 have been contract years for him. Unless he is willing to take a veteran minimum contract next season, I foresee that this is Nnadi’s final season as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs.
